Good. No markings. "Fellowship" spine sunned. "Return" spine has small stain. Books appear to be unread. Bottom of slipcase has large tear. Slipcase has heavy scuff marks and shows moderate age.
After the abundant success of "The Hobbit," Tolkien meant
for this work to be printed as one volume and coupled with
his definitive "The Silmarillion." Instead, the novel became
a trilogy, and one of the best-selling works in history at that.
